For the second time in three years, Milton resident Norm Pietila's knack for get- ting a nice shot caught the eye of Halton Hills Mayor Rick Bonnette. Pietila's picture of double- leg amputee Bernie Broad, captain of the United King- dom team, teeing up his shot during the men's golf tourna- ment at last year's Invictus Games in Toronto was judged by Bonnette as the Mayor's Choice recipient for the PhotoArt community photo competition organized by the Halton Hills Camera Club (HHCC). The retired chef spent sev- eral hours on a sweltering hot day at the St. George's Golf and Country Club to get the shot, named Determina- tion at the 18th hole. He col- lected $100 and a subscription to PhotoEd Magazine for his efforts. Pietila, who has been a member of the HHCC for four years, also took top spot in the Mayor's Choice event two years ago with the mono- chromatic River of Dreams on Sixteen Mile Creek. He also earned a second- place ribbon and two honour- able mentions in other divi- sions in this year's competi- tion.
