25| The IFP -H alton H ills | T hursday,M ay 24,2018 theifp.ca The owners of 357 Guelph St. were both puzzled and horrified when they came to check on their building a couple weeks ago. The former location of Yoyo sushi, which moved across the street last fall, had been broken into and had the bathrooms, kitchen and basement vandalized. The toilets and vanities in the bath- rooms were smashed, the kitchen sink sto- len and water pipes cut from the building. Water flooded the basement from the cut pipes causing further damage. "Why would someone break a whole washroom?" said Byungkook Jeong, who owns the building with his wife Misook. The pair also run Inaka, a popular sushi restaurant in Caledon. "Why would they break the water and take the water meter?" Jeong said. The pair called Halton Regional Police Service who came and investigated the damage but told the owners that it's diffi- cult to find the culprit without any evi- dence or witnesses. "It's unknown exactly when the inci- dent occurred," said Sgt. Dana Nicholas, media relations with Halton regional po- lice. The break-in could have taken place anywhere in between Feb. 1 to May 7, when it was reported to authorities. "We have no suspects at the time," said Nicholas, explaining that it the investiga- tion is complete, pending the receipt of any additional information.
