Dale Wood of Markdale was arrested in the spring of 2018 after a victim came forward alleging assault while she was a young mu- sic student. Wood was ar- rested a second time after two other individuals came forward. He faces four counts of sexual assault from three alleged victims. Pretrial hearings are not open to the public or media and are an opportu- nity for the Crown, Wood's lawyer Charles Baryhydt and the judge to meet and establish a number of terms for the trial. The Crown would estab- lish what sort of sentencing they would seek, and it is an opportunity for the ac- cused to plead innocent or guilty. The pretrial hearing is set to continue in the Mil- ton courthouse on Dec. 6 in courtroom 16 at 2 p.m. PRETRIAL ON DALE WOOD CASE CONTINUES DEC. 6 ALEXANDRA HECK aheck@metroland.com Dale Wood is a retired music instructor who is facing sexual assault charges dating back to the 1980s, when he taught vocal lessons out of his home.
