17| The IFP -H alton H ills | T hursday,O ctober 18,2018 theifp.ca Georgetown needs a change of attitude at council. Recently Google stated that when they are presented with an idea, rather than tearing it apart, they mandate that they examine it for its merits first. We need to learn to pull the good parts out of any idea. Our development process needs to be a welcoming adventure that is reasonably priced and completed in a timely fashion. The cost to the end user for an expensive and time-consuming process, is devastating economically. This applies if you are a homeowner looking to make a change to your home, and to the developer looking to bring employment or housing beyond the single-family dwelling. I believe that the issues of Development, transportation and affordable housing are intertwined. The solution requires a different mindset which I believe I can bring to the table. I ask that you vote for me and together we can implement a change for the better. This is the Barber Mill Project that Council let fail. This council has been taken to the OMB four times in the past eight years for failing to make a decision (The town has 180 days to render a decision on an application). How much has the lack of decision making cost us? Same people - Same mistakes Is the McGibbon Next?
