Barb (nee Nield) left us suddenly but peacefully on Monday January 7th, 2019 at her home in Georgetown, Ontario. Barb will be dearly and sadly missed by her loving daughters Marnie (Brent Carey) and Amber (Colin Metham), brother John (Sandy) and sister Debara (Greg Lyons ) . She was proudest Nan to her grandchildren Dylan, Liam, Ryan, Parker and Reid. Barb was a dear aunt to Kim Nield - Paré (Keith), Sue Gilroy (Steve) and Lori Dunigan (Digger), and great aunt to Colton, Matthew and Johnny Paré, Maddie and Charlie Dunigan, and Nick Gilroy. Barb follows the footsteps in the sand of her beloved parents Earl and Aileen, predeceased. She leaves behind former husband Brian Lyons, and many close, dear friends too numerous to mention and for fear of leaving someone out as you all meant so much to her. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Living Hope Alliance Church in Georgetown on Saturday January 12th, 2019 at 10:00 am, with a reception to follow in the church gymnasium. Barb explicitly stated her wish for this to be a CELEBRATION, and even went so far as to suggest that people should wear bright colours if they wish. Antoni was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Dorothy on July 8th of 2018. Loving father to Paul (Monica) and Andrew ( the l a te He len ) . Cherished grandfather of Cheryl, Michelle and Evan. Brother to Felix and the late Janine. Antoni was born in Janorowo, Poland, as a young boy his family were removed from their home and taken by the Russian Army to a labour camp in Shoksha Siberia. Antoni's sister died in the camp. His brother and father joined General Anders Army to fight the Germans. It was at this time Antoni and his mother were released from the camp. He traveled to Tehran, Iran. After a short time, with other Polish refugees, they made the journey to camp Abercorn in Northern Rhodesia, Africa. He l ived there before immigrating to England in 1948. It was in England while working at Perkins Diesel Engines he met and married the love of his life Dorothy. They had two boys while in England. The decision was made to move the family to Canada, they eventually settled in Georgetown. Toni worked as a machinist for McDonnell Douglas for many years. Thank you to the nurses and support staff who cared for Antoni during his brief stay at the Bennett Centre. Your dedication and compassion is greatly appreciated.
