Among the artwork in- cluded in the display are paintings by members of the Group of Seven, noted historical artist Cornelius Krieghoff, as well as other prominent 19th-century Canadian and European artists. The artwork is part of the collection donated to the Town of Halton Hills by Frederick Helson. "The Halton Hills com- munity lost a great bene- factor with the passing of Fred Helson in 2018, but his generous gift of art will continue to inspire for gen- erations to come," said Mayor Rick Bonnette. Highlights of the Helson Collection will be on dis- play until March 3. Helson Gallery curator Judy Da- ley will share the stories behind the paintings, in an exhibition talk on Sunday, Feb. 24, from 2:30 to 3 p.m. The public is invited, and admission is free. The Hel- son Gallery is at 9 Church St. in Georgetown and is open Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thurs- days from 1 to 8:30 p.m. COMMUNITY HELSON COLLECTION ON DISPLAY UNTIL MARCH 3 SUBMIT YOUR FAMILY DAY EVENTS AT THEIFP.CA
