He was the eldest son of the late Hilton and Winifred Elliott, brother of Shirley (Dills) of Milton and Jane of Guelph. George was assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Guelph from 1962 to 1988, organist and choir director of Trinity United Church in Acton from 1957 until recently. He served as Bandmaster of Acton Citizens' Band from 1963 to 2017. George was Acton's Citizen of the Year in 1973. She was a gymnast, longtime gymnastics coach and judge, librarian's assistant, garden centre and nursery owner, and author. Stoic till the end, mom exemplified strength, faith, and perseverance by first nursing her husband through his long illness while battling her Parkinson's for 25 years.
