Madison's winning style includes always being very pleasant to Halton Hiills residents and eagerly helping out with vacation routes when they come up. She also finds someone to cover her own routes while she's on vacation. Carriers of the month receive a coupon for a large Topper's pizza. Iouliana Polar photo Residents of Halton Hills have an opportunity to im- pact local tourism. The town is accepting ap- plications to sit on the tour- ism advisory committee af- ter the end of the current committee's term. "On behalf of all town council, I would like to thank the committee mem- bers for their contributions, which have elevated and rec- ognized tourism as an im- portant contributor to Hal- ton Hills' economy," Mayor Rick Bonnette said in a news release. "Their hard work and dedication have made our town a more desirable place to live, work, play and stay, and we will build on this success as we move for- ward." The committee was dis- solved as of April 16, with a new tourism advisory com- mittee to be selected in late May or early June. The tourism advisory committee consists of one member of town council and nine citizen and industry members. The group meets quarterly and will make rec- ommendations to council and staff on matters pertain- ing to tourism initiatives. The committee ensures the diverse interests of tour- ism stakeholders from across Halton Hills are met through industry-focused representatives. Interested residents can apply at haltonhills.ca/com- mittees/JoinCommit- tees.php. The deadline to ap- ply is 4:30 p.m. on May 23, with interviews by the selec- tion committee to follow. The selection committee will make its recommenda- tions for appointments to council.
