Care about /newsletters The Town of Halton Hills recently ap- pointed a new library board to guide the di- rection of the two local branches for the next four years. Tamara Smith-Miksic was elected as board chair and Lisa Caissie as vice chair. Returning members include: Larry Hawes, Matt Kindbom and Marilyn Willis, as well as returning mayor's designates, Ward 2 Coun. Ted Brown and Ward 4 Coun. Ann Lawlor. New to the board are Betsy Cosper, Keith Medenblik, Joanna Meler and James Schumacker. "The library board and staff are looking forward to working with the community and acting on their behalf to continue to strengthen and grow the library," said Cais- sie. "The library's strategic plan reflects the ideals of the community and will guide the library as it evolves and grows to meet the unique and diverse needs of the area." The library board thanks Heather McAl- pine and April Currey for their service, as well as outgoing chair Bett Leverette for her 6.5 years of dedication to the board, the staff and the community.
