Between May 25 and June 16, residents are en- couraged to participate by simply being more active. The most active com- munity during that period will receive $150,000 for physical activity initia- tives. The Challenge rallies communities from coast to coast to sit less and move more. According to Statis- tics Canada, only 18 per cent of Canadian adults get the recommended amount of physical activi- ty. "Wouldn't it be great for Canada's most patriotic town to also become Cana- da's most active communi- ty?" Mayor Rick Bonnette said in a prepared release. "Our community embrac- es the health benefits and fun that go along with physical activities and are already champions." The town will host 16 free activities over the two-week challenge peri- od, including swims, skates, yoga, and tai chi in the park. The family-friendly performance hits the stage at Globe Productions' home base, The Old Armoury, on Fri- day, June 7 and runs until June 16. Featuring an all-adult cast playing the Peanuts characters, the show fol- lows an average day in the life of Char- lie Brown. "It really is just that - a day made up of little moments picked from all the days of Charlie Brown," explains the Globe's website. "From Valentine's Day to the baseball season, from wild optimism to utter despair, all mixed in with the lives of his friends and strung together on the string of a single day." The cast includes: Dave Brown as Charlie Brown, Mackenzie Burton as Linus Van Pelt, Laura Schachtler as Lucy Van Pelt, Jenna Brown as Sally Brown, Andrew Skuza as Schroeder and Danny Harvey as Snoopy.
