This page has been donated by this newspaper to communicate important information to Halton residents at no cost to taxpayers. Participating in waste programs like the Blue Box and Green Cart is a great way to reduce community waste. Collectively, Halton residents diverted more than 131,750 tonnes of waste from the landfill in 2018. One of the ways to continue to improve our diversion rate is making sure that we are all putting waste in the right place. Did you know that mixing food waste with recyclables or putting garbage in the Green Cart can limit the ability to turn waste into new products and resources?
