General Committee for the Town of Halton Hills will conduct a public meeting to examine and discuss proposed applications to amend the Town of Halton Hills Official Plan and Zoning By-law 2010-0050, as amended. The proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law amendment applications apply to the lands legally described as Lots 1 to 9 Registered Plan 341 (Georgetown), Part of West Half of Lot 19, Concession 9 (Esquesing), Town of Halton Hills, Regional Municipality of Halton. The subject lands are municipally known as 26, 28, 30, 34, 36, 38 & 42Mill Street, 3 & 11 Dayfoot Drive (Georgetown). Below is a map showing the location of the subject property. The purpose and effect of the applications are to obtain permission to develop Buildings 2 and 3 of the comprehensive redevelopment of the former Memorial Arena lands and 7 abutting properties to allow for a 3-storey townhouse building (Building 2) and a 5-storey condominium (Building 3). If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Town of Halton Hills on the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments, written request can be made to the Town of Halton Hills - Planning & Sustainability Department at 1 Halton Hills Drive, Halton Hills, Ontario L7G 5G2. If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Council of the Town of Halton Hills to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments are adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision. 2. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments are adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. 3. Lois Fraser recently received the 2019 Alumni Award for Community Service from her alma mater - an honour that pays tribute to alumni who've made outstand- ing volunteer contributions in their com- munity. The local woman began volunteering as a student at Western and has continued to serve others in a wide variety of capacities for more than 45 years. Over the course of more than three de- cades she held the positions of board mem- ber, volunteer and 10-year president with Georgetown Globe Productions, and also co-founded and managed the Georgetown Children's Chorus for 25 years. As chair of the Heritage Foundation of Halton Hills, she's currently spearheading the campaign to create the Lucy Maud Montgomery Museum and Literary Arts Centre in Norval. Beyond the award from Western, Fra- ser's hard work has been recognized by the province with the 2014 Ontario Medal for Good Citizenship and the Lions Club, which named her Georgetown's Citizen of the Year in 1995. Georgetown's Lois Fraser has volunteered in a variety of capacities for more than four decades.
