Congratulations to the Town of Halton Hills for being chosen as the host municipality to launch the new season of Rogers Hometown Hockey. You can't miss the decorations in our cen- tre. We are inviting all members of the Hillsview Active Living Centre to get into the fun by wearing your red and white, or better yet a hockey sweater on Oct. 3-4. We will be judged for our decorations. Wouldn't it be neat if we "seniors" won! We need you to take part. The many activities planned for the weekend will be in the paper. Let's show our spirit. Come out on Wednesday, Oct. 7 and enjoy a potluck dinner with your fellow members at 5:30 p.m. Following dinner, around 7 p.m., you will be able to enjoy a variety of games. Please sign up at reception if you plan to attend. Beaumont Mill Antiques and Collectibles will be at our centre on Tuesday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. Bring in a precious item to be evaluated by Peter. Tickets are avail- able at reception. No tickets day of show. What would October be with- out a Halloween party? Come out on Thursday, Oct. 31 wearing a costume, or orange and black. Children from a local daycare provider are coming for a Halloween parade. These little ones will put you in a "Spooktac- ular" mood. A toonie will get you a hotdog and chips for lunch. Please sign up at reception to confirm participation. These lit- tle folks are excited about com- ing to see you. They are our up- and-coming seniors, albeit a long way off. The centre will be offering games on the last Saturday night of each month. Bridge, eu- chre, bid euchre and cribbage will be offered. It starts Oct. 26. If you are interested in having this program move forward, please sign up at reception. Just a reminder to anyone at- tending evening programs that doors open at 6 p.m. unless oth- erwise scheduled. Every day there are a variety of drop-in programs. These are offered to members only and re- quire no sign-up ahead. The fall complement of drop-in pro- grams can be found in the Hills- view magazine. It is a great way to get out and make friends, as well as have fun participating. Why not give it a try?
