BONUSBONUSBONUS The signature dish might be gone, but the fac- es behind the counter will be very familiar. Jimmy Sharifi and his wife Tracey, who operated King Pizza and Submarine in Georgetown from 1987 to 2001, have opened Mega Burger & More. Their new venture is located at the same location as the old one, at 10 Mountainview Rd. South. "We'll have the same friendly service, the same delicious food that people used to love," Sharifi said. Sharifi sold King Pizza in 2001 and opened a restau- rant in Brampton. He re- turned to Georgetown to operate Big Boy Burgers for a brief time, before the opportunity came up to re- acquire King Pizza. But Sharifi felt it was time for a change. "King Pizza always had the best burger in town," he said. Sharifi is quick to point out that the 'more' in Mega Burger & More will be equally as important. Me- ga Burger & More offers up a varied menu that in- cludes subs, wraps, sand- wiches (steak, veal and chicken Parmesan, Philly cheese steak, pulled pork), wings, burritos, quesadil- las, panzerotti, fried chick- en with a light homemade batter, Italian dishes (in- cluding spaghetti and meatballs, lasagna and rav- ioli), souvlaki, gyros and shawarma. "This young man loves my falafel," Sharifi says, pointing to a customer who stopped in to check out Me- ga Burger before it opened Monday. Mega Burger & More of- fers delivery on all of its menu items. "I love Georgetown. I love the people," Sharifi said. "It feels good. I feel alive again."
