I hate to be a poor loser but where were the eyes of the judges? Congratula- tions to the Works Depart- ment. I understand you went all out. Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to another successful fashion show. Looking for- ward to the spring. Come out on Wednes- day, Oct. 31 and enjoy the Halloween Parade featur- ing some small fry from a local daycare. These little ones are sure to bring back memories of Halloweens past. We encourage you to get into the act by dressing up or wear black and or- ange. Lunch of hotdogs and chips will be available. It seems there is a lack of interest in a Saturday games night. They have been cancelled for the time being. You are welcome to join us at the centre on Monday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. as we cele- brate our veterans with our Remembrance Day ser- vice. Tuesday, Nov. 12 is a very busy morning at the centre. You have the choice of one of three activities all beginning at 10 a.m. Once you have made your choice please sign up at reception. One of the activities is a Glazed Expression work- shop. This will be your chance to "make some- thing from nothing." For more information regard- ing this please look it up in your Hillsview magazine. For another activity, Kerri On Travel will be holding an information session to highlight some of their upcoming vacation packages. For the third activity, we will be decorating the Christmas tree and putting up our decorations in prep- aration for the bazaar. Can you believe it? We are talking about Christ- mas already. On Saturday, Nov. 16, the Hillsview Ac- tive Living Centre, George- town, will be holding its an- nual Christmas Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. What a great way to get a head start on your Christmas shopping. There will be many ven- dors present selling their handcrafted items, with a bake sale, jewelry table, penny table and crafts made by our very own ladies. You can also take part in a 50/50 draw. Lunch will be served. Hope to see you there. I'm the one in a Santa hat selling the 50/50 tickets. Members have been asking and the answer is yes. We are having our an- nual Christmas turkey din- ner. The date for this is Thursday, Dec. 12. Please note that there will be only 100 tickets available when they come out at reception. Have you purchased your lucky ticket for a chance to win $75 worth of scratch tickets? Drop by re- ception to buy your chance to become a big winner just in time for Christmas. Draw for the winner will be held at the close of the Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 16. Computer classes are finished for this year and will resume mid-January. Gives you lots of time to practise all that Greg has helped you with. On the travel desk is a sign-up sheet for our first upcoming trip for 2020. Stop by, have a look and sign up. These trips do fill up early. Check in your new Hills- view to stay caught up with all things happening at your centre. Come out. Take part! Be a part of this great place.
