Residents made the trek to Conserva- tion Halton's Crawford Lake Conservation Area to dispose of 175 used Christmas trees, far surpassing the 30 or so holiday trees do- nated last year. This is the second year the program was open to the public, with the previous five years catering exclusively to local nurser- ies and the City of Hamilton displays - 500 trees in total being donated. "The trees create new creek/river banks that improve water quality and the avail- ability of fish habitat" said Kent Rundle, co- ordinator of Landowner Outreach Restora- tion with Conservation Halton.
