Born Kate Jenschar on November 20th, 1937 in Berlin, German, Kay spent the war years in Poland. At 19, she immigrated to Toronto where she met her husband-to-be, Gottfried, and had 2 children: Harald (Cathy) and Diane. The family moved to Georgetown in 1969 where Kay became a fixture at the local Loblaws, working as a cashier for 25 years. Woe betide the stock boy who didn't respond quickly enough to Kay's intercom page for a 'Price Check Darling!' Kay proudly became a Canadian citizen in 1998. Through the years she enjoyed cheering her children's activities, annual trips to Florida with Gottfried, aqua fit classes at the Georgetown pool, cruising, and outings with the Halton Power Squadron. Perhaps her greatest joy though was her two grandchildren: Kiah and Harris. For the last 9 years, Kay has resided at the Mountainview Residence and her family extends their deepest appreciation to the staff for their loving and compassionate care. Given current circumstances, services are being delayed. Just a thought of sweet remembrance just a memory sad and true, just the love and sweet devotion of one who thinks of you. Time may heal the broken-hearted, time may make the wound less sore; but time will never stop the longing for the loved one gone before. May the winds of love blow softly and whisper so you'll hear; we will always love and miss you and wish that you were here. And while you lie in peaceful sleep, your memory we shall always keep. There is a link death cannot sever, love and remembrance last forever. A sweet little flower, nipped in the bud, no grief or sorrow knew; just came to earth to win our love and then to Heaven withdrew. No stain was on your little heart, sin had not entered there; and innocence slept sweetly on that pale white brow so fair. You were too pure for this cold earth, too beautiful to stay, and so God's holy angel bore our darling one away. We are sad within our memory, lonely are our hearts today; for the one we loved so dearly has forever been called away. We think of you in silence, no eye may see us weep; but many silent tears are shed when others are asleep. Always so good, unselfish and kind, none on this earth your equal I'll find. Honourable and true in all your ways, loving and faithful to the end of your days, honest and liberal, ever upright, just in your judgment, always right; loved by your friends and all whom you knew, one in a million, that person was you.
