Thank you to all the healthcareworkers, paramedics and those providing essential services for the sacrifices you aremaking in terms of the risks you face and the time away from loved ones. Thank you for working hard to ensure everyone has access to essential needs and services. I can't stress enough how important it is that everyone takes Public Health direction seriously. Our actionswill protect the health of our loved ones and themany people on the front-lines--our healthcareworkers, first responders and those providing essentials services. Physical distancing and staying home if possible are important steps you can take to help "flatten the curve".We need to care of each other and take these actions together for the greater good of our community. Please follow these actions: Help flatten the curve to protect our community Access to Regional services and facilities Please visit halton.ca/COVID19 to get the latest information about symptoms, risk, when to contact 311 or seek medical attention Many Halton Region buildings are closed to the public to protect the health and safety of Regional staff and visitors and stop the spread of COVID-19. While buildings are closed, we will continue to provide critical services, such as waste collection, Halton Waste Management Site drop-off services, water and wastewater services, road operations, housing and paramedic services. Critical construction projects that are vital to our local economy will also continue until further notice. A drop-box is available at the Halton Regional Centre (1151 Bronte Road, Oakville) for residents and businesses to drop-off any necessary documents. However, we encourage you to delay all non- essential business and consider accessing our services through our website, phone or email wherever possible. For information about closures, cancellations or temporary suspensions of any of our programs services or events, please visit halton.ca. practice physical distancing and keep a 2 metre distance; stay home as much as possible, especially when ill; cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or sleeve; wash hands frequently with soap and water or with alcohol-based hand rub; clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces; avoid all non-essential travel until further notice; and if you have travelled, you must stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days from when you return home.
