By mid-May the courts started receiving new non-emergency Applications by email and started to allow pre- pandemic scheduled court appearances to move forward by video conference. For newApplications, although they can start the court process, as of now that's all they can do. For example; your lawyer can apply for your uncontested Divorce but your lawyer cannot get you a Divorce. It is good idea to get the time limits running for your Divorce, but don't schedule your second wedding. More news from the courts is expected early in July. Call for Applicants: Committee of Adjustment Plans are in the works to bring the Acton Farmers' Market back to the down- town core this summer with a variety of safety protocols. The Downtown Acton BIA is aiming for a June 18 opening date, with the mar- ket then running weekly on Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. outside the Acton Town Hall Centre. BIA co-ordinator Alex Hilson says he's been work- ing closely with the Georgetown Farmers' Mar- ket to work out the CO- VID-19 regulations that will be implemented, in- cluding limiting the num- ber of people in the market area and having a one-way system for foot traffic. "It will be very similar to any other store environ- ment," he said. Hilson added that it's been challenging to keep up with the health regula- tions, and secure enough vendors to run the market. "The community and vendors have asked for it though, and we're going to do everything we possibly can to make it happen," he said. "We appreciate every- one's patience as we work through this challenging time." For more information, visit downtownacton.ca.
