"I think it is particularly im- portant right now that we share and celebrate good news," Mayor Rick Bonnette, said. "That's why I'm so pleased to advise that To- romont is the latest company to establish their headquarters in Halton Hills." Toromont CIMCO, a manu- facturer of industrial and recre- ational refrigeration equipment, plans to open an 84,000-square- foot manufacturing facility in the Gateway that is anticipated to create more than 200 jobs. "The Town of Halton Hills provided attentive, prompt and meaningful services that en- abled us to successfully com- plete our due diligence for a local land purchase on a very tight ti- meline," Reeve Whitman, man- ager of corporate facilities at To- romont, said. "Each and every department were accessible and engaged at town hall and were able to nurture external rela- tions with the region, Halton Conservation, and MTO." Brent Marshall, chief admin- istrative officer for the town, said the town's success in at- tracting investment stems from a commitment to remain "open for business" during the pan- demic. "We have implemented a number of new actions in addi- tion to continuing to process new and existing development appli- cations and advancing the busi- ness concierge initiative -- a pro- cess to fast-track approvals for major investments," Marshall said. "Staff is conducting virtual building permit inspections; conducted a COVID-19 business survey and established an Eco- nomic Support and Recover Task Force."
