Instead, the 69-year-old retired drywall installer was home in Georgetown when he walked into the Circle K on Guelph Street and bought an Instant Fruit Explosion ticket. That twist of fate landed him a $75,000 prize. "This is a blessing for us and I feel that it was meant to be," he said of his win. "If we had gone (to Europe), I never would have pur- chased this lottery ticket." At first, the couple thought their ticket was just a close call. Vidovic scratched the ticket and then handed it to his wife to double check. "She said I needed a ki- wi," he said while picking up his prize at the OLG prize centre in Toronto. "Then I pointed out the kiwi." They decided to take the ticket to the store for yet an- other cheque. They handed the ticket to the cashier and the terminal confirmed their win. "My wife was more excit- ed than I was and called the kids right away," Vidovic said. "They were excited too." The father of three and grandfather of three doesn't have plans for his winnings yet."I'm going to put it in the bank and enjoy a little more freedom in our retirement years," he said.
