While I agree with some of the questions raised by Arnott, I am concerned over the town's disapprov- al of the GTA West corri- dor. As both a resident and a business owner in Halton Hills, I support the GTA West corridor, as do -- I be- lieve -- many other busi- ness owners and residents in our town. Not only is multi-high- way connectivity critical for future growth and com- petitiveness with other re- gions, it would be incredi- bly helpful in moving our citizens to where they need to be. Why are we saying no to a viable highway project that will help us to connect with others, to bring pros- perity to our town and to make us more competitive from a business perspec- tive? The time is now to get ready for the explosive pop- ulation growth that will happen in the GTA, includ- ing Halton Hills. It is my opinion that the town's opposition to this highway is not encompass- ing of the opinions of many citizens and business own- ers who would prefer to see a more progressive ap- proach.
