Beloved mother of the late Mark Coates (Rosemary) and daughter Delia Coates (Andrew). Beloved nannie to Tasha Palumbo-Coates and Brendan Coates and great- grandmother to William Johnston. Predeceased by brother Ronald Talken (Lucille) and beloved auntie to Suyen Talken-Sinclair. Daughter of Madeline Grace Talken (nee Bailey) and Percy Talken. Dear second mom and friend to Lorraine Guerreiro. Born in Benoni South Africa, lived in Johannesburg, Nairobi and Mombassa Kenya, London England, Montreal, Brampton, Mississauga, Toronto and Ottawa Canada. Married Paul Ernest Coates 1958. Eunice traveled within her native South Africa, England and Canada and loved the "tropics" in Africa and the Caribbean. She loved classical music, ballet and orchestral performances and acquired a high level in piano theory. She inspired a love of the arts into her children and family. We would hear of wonderful "musical evenings" she enjoyed in her youth with friends and family. In east Africa, England and Canada mom worked in secretarial and office administration for the IODE, private firms and government. Eunice always had a kind, thoughtful and inclusive way with people she met and worked with and was a loyal friend and devoted mother through and through with all her family. Beautiful qualities of spirituality, gentleness, selflessness, generosity, compassion, and humanitarianism defined her. She loved animals, cats, dogs, birds and especially "the big cats" of Africa - specifically Lions and Cheetahs. She supported the SPCA and other animal, wildlife and environmental charities. As a parent she was both mother and father to her children and grandchildren setting an example of loyalty and guardianship. She wanted us to have opportunities and success in our lives - to be good and upstanding. Mom spent her final 3 3/4 years at the Bennett Village in Georgetown Ontario. Everyone was exceptionally caring and supportive and we are extremely grateful for everything they did for Eunice especially during this past year in these difficult times. We are also grateful to Jones' Funeral Home for quickly helping us when the need was there. We will have a service for Eunice when restrictions have lifted and will notify family and friends when that might be. In memory of Eunice we know she would love to see support provided to the SPCA or an animal rescue or environmental cause of your choice. BOTTERO, Teresa December 27, 1937 - December 17, 2020 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Teresa Bottero in her 83rd year. Teresa passed away suddenly at home. Loving wife to the late Luigi of 60 years, mother to Rita (Rui), Linda (Dave) and Steven (Jacqueline). Nonna to Eric, Alex (Sarah), Marissa, Julia, Sydney and Siena. Dearest sister of Zita and Angelo Torresin, Geraldo and Gina Torresin, Clemente and Assunta Torresin, Alberto and Elide Torresin, Walter and Rosetta Torresin, Antonilia and Valentino Fior, Antonio and Regina Torresin, Assunta and Giovanni Pavan. Dearest sister -in-law of Angela and Vittorio Tessaro, Maria and Angelo Manarin, Arcangelo and Lidia Bottero, Silvio and Giuseppina Bottero, Antonio Bottero, Angelo Bottero, Bruno Bottero, Scholastica Bottero (Suora Lucrezia), Santina and Sanbastiano Bartoncini, Anna and Dino Nardin, Giuseppe Bottero and Olivia Bottero, Angelo and Lina Bottero. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Hamilton, Halton, Ohio, Spain and Italy. She was born one of nine children in San Marco, Treviso, Italy and came to Canada in her early 20s. Teresa was our mother, but to others she was Mother Teresa. A very strong woman with unmatched compassion, perseverance and determination. Her life was always guided by a strong love and she was the family's nucleus. She was a dedicated wife and mother who cherished all her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. So proud of each of her children and grandchildren, she was always the head cheerleader from the sidelines. Her children knew to be very respectful of Teresa because she was the owner of many broken wooden spoons and the quick draw "Savata". Recognized by many as a close friend she was a confidant for so many, to listen and offer straightforward advice. She was never shy to offer her opinion and perspective, always valued by all. A devoted Catholic who led her life in accordance to God's wishes. A woman of endless skills from seamstress, gardener, chef (famous lasagna), financial advisor, homemaker, etc, she led by example. She was a great teacher and life-long student always learning to better herself and those around her. A love of flowers & gardening her home was always filled with colour and beauty. She never sat down because there was always something to do. Nothing was more important to her than family, and each gathering was a celebration. We always knew how proud she was of us, but we were more proud of her. We were blessed to have such an incredible woman as our mother. We love her, miss her and will always remember the woman, mother and Nonna who taught us so much. A most heartfelt Thank you and appreciation for your expression of love and support during this difficult time. May God bless you. We thank the Halton Emergency Services and Fr. Mark Sullivan for the compassion during this very difficult time. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada is greatly appreciated.
