In keeping with my ef- forts to showcase dedicated members of the centre, this time I would like to intro- duce you to Pat and Bev Jones, two more active members of Hillsview Ac- tive Living Centre. They moved to Acton in 1970. Since joining the cen- tre in June 2006, Bev has held a variety of positions on the board, including vice president for two years, president for three, past president for two and fund- raising chair for three years. At present, he is in his third year as membership chair. In 1973, he was on the centre's renovation commit- tee, when we were able to enlarge our facility, hold more activities at the same time and create a more practical and larger kitch- en. He was also on the first accreditation committee. When he isn't busy with the various board activities he enjoys line dancing and hiking. His wife Pat worked at the reception desk, is a fundraising member and re- cording secretary. She en- joys helping with the bingo, selling tickets and giving out the prize money. She can always be counted to run the book table at any fundraising event. On a sad note we would like to pass on our condo- lences to Connie Fix's fami- ly. Connie passed away un- expectedly on December 14. Connie was secretary on the board, enjoyed the so- cial dinners and travelling and would volunteer when- ever she was needed. Through a provincial grant, the Hillsview Centres are pleased to offer curb side pickup hot lunches for $5 at noon daily. Pickup lo- cations: Hillsview Acton (Tuesdays and Thursdays) and Hillsview Georgetown (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays).
