EUWEN, Leonardus Cornelis February 14, 1938 - January 4, 2021 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with great sadness that the family of Leo Euwen announce that, after a short and sudden illness, Leo passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. He will be deeply missed by Carmel, his loving wife of 52 years, adoring children Elaine (Michel), Kevin (Sarah), Suzanne (Wade) and as a cherished Opa to grandchildren Taylor, Carter, Seamus, Elle and Ivy. Predeceased by his parents Derk and Margaretha (van den Heuvel), sisters Greet and Truus and brothers Dick and Richard; survived by brother Bas; sisters Rie and Ann and his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Born in Amsterdam, the seventh of eight children, his adventurous spirit brought him to Canada, landing in Montreal at age 17. Later moving to Toronto to work on the construction of the new TD Towers as a Specialized Welder, he met the love of his life, Carmel. They moved to Georgetown to raise their family, later following his dream of retiring to the country and building a hobby farm where they have lived for over 20 years. He lived a wonderful life there and loved giving his grandchildren rides in the wheelbarrow and on the tractor. Leo loved his dogs, horses, donkeys, goats, as well as walks in Cedarvale Park, hikes on the Bruce Trail, gardening, birdwatching, camping, jazz and classical music. He enjoyed many good times including family barbecues and trips to Wasaga Beach, Cape Cod, Florida, England, Ireland and the Netherlands to visit family and friends. Leo was very talented and loved to build things with his hands, the largest project being the barn for his animals. One of our favourite projects is the custom-built backyard fire pit that he made for us this past summer. To know Leo was to love Leo. He will be remembered by his family, friends and neighbours as a fun-loving, gentle and honest man. His sense of humour and his laughter will be remembered forever, far and wide. Always welcoming, his warm and kind heart touched many. Our family wishes to thank the dedicated medical staff at Georgetown and Oakville Trafalgar Hospitals for their gentle care. A very special thank you to the gifted Dr. S. Cui and the devoted ICU team at Oakville Trafalgar for their compassionate care of Leo. Arrangements are entrusted to the MacKinnon Family Funeral Home. When the grass is green and the flowers bloom, we will gather together in the warm sunshine at the farm welcoming friends and family to commemorate and celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Leo's memory may be made to The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada or Lab Rescue. "He was so kind and funny, and he always made me smile. Even though he's no longer with us, he will never be forgotten." -Taylor Euwen Whitten. www.mackinnonfamilyfuneralhome.com WORRALL, James Edward "Ted" ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Peacefully, due to complica- tions of Covid-19, on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Extendi- care Halton Hills.
