If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Halton Hills before the proposed by-law is passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party. An opportunity to guide public art pol- icies and proposals in Halton Hills has been announced. The Town of Halton Hills is looking for three community members to serve on the Public Art Advisory Board as volunteer representatives. Board members advance public art in Halton Hills by providing input into public art policies and project proposals, deter- mining appropriate locations, and provid- ing advice on the integration of public art into capital projects. An inaugural public art project, After Nature by Ingrid Mayrhofer, was unveiled in 2020 and new projects are underway for 2021. "This opportunity to help guide the Town's robust public art program is an ex- citing one for our local artists," Mayor Rick Bonnette said. Board members serve a term of three years beginning in March 2021. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, residents of Halton Hills, and not current- ly employed by the Town of Halton Hills. Applicants should be practising artists with demonstrated training, skill and ex- perience who have strong connections to the local arts and culture sector. Appli- cants should also have a history of giving public presentations and experience work- ing on a community-based team. Experi- ence with public art projects and jurying are considered assets.
