The library will be offer- ing Ontario park passes for the 2021 season to Halton Hills residents. Through the Ontario parks lending program, res- idents can borrow provin- cial day passes. Passes will provide free one-day access for one vehicle and its occu- pants at more than 100 pro- vincial parks in Ontario. The lending program runs until Dec. 31 and is in- tended to help Ontario resi- dents spend more time in nature by making it easier and more affordable for people to enjoy the benefits of the province's provincial parks. "Getting outdoors and spending time in nature can have a profound positive impact on our health and well-being, and this has be- come even more evident during COVID-19," said Jeff Yurek, Minister of the Envi- ronment, Conservation and Parks. "Cost should not be a barrier to enjoying all these important benefits, which is why we are helping to make Ontario Parks more affordable and accessible to all." "We are so excited to of- fer these passes to the resi- dents of Halton Hills for 2021," said Brandi Gillett, community librarian. "These passes are impor- tant right now to provide families, from the same household, the opportunity to get out, be active, bird watch, hike, ski and explore nature. There's never been a better time to take advan- tage of these great day pass- es." To borrow Ontario park day passes, reserve them from the Halton Hills Pub- lic Library catalogue. COMMUNITY LIBRARY TO LEND DAILY PARK PASSES The Halton Hills Public Library will be lending day passes to provincial parks, like Bronte Park in Oakville. Graham Paine/Metroland
