This will prevent overcrowding and keep everyone safe! The Town of Halton Hills is seeking public input on a proposal for a five- story apartment building at 60 John Street, Georgetown. The owner of the property is currently seeking permission for medium to high density residential uses on the property, combined with the two vacant properties. An Open House is being held onWednesday, March 31, 2021 to seek public input on the development proposal. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Open House will be held virtually and online registration is required via the 60 John St. project page on Let's Talk Halton Hills. Town staff will provide a presentation on the status of appeal on the property and land use permissions in the context of the surrounding area. Information on the proposed concepts for the property will also be presented, followed by a question and answer period. A previous Open House for a similar proposal took place in February of 2012. The property owner has previously filed an appeal Zoning By-law 2010-0050 (the Comprehensive Zoning By-law). These appeals remain in effect, and no planning applications have been filed with the Town to date. COVID-19 vaccine clin- ics across Halton have wel- comed eligible residents in the past week. The region's first clinic to open, on March 6, was at Georgetown's Gellert Com- munity Centre (10241 Eighth Line), while Burlington now has clinics at Joseph Brant Hospital's pandemic re- sponse unit and at Compass Point Bible Church 1500 Kerns Rd.). The Oakville clinic is located at St. Volo- dymyr Cultural Centre (1280 Dundas St. W.). The Milton clinic was last to open, doing so Tues- day (Mar. 16) at FirstOnta- rio Arts Centre Milton (1010 Main St. E.). As for the weekly CO- VID-19 cases, the region's website shows that from March 5 to 11, there were 299 new cases in Halton, up from 265 the week before. As of March 12, the num- ber of active cases stood at 295, including 36 in Halton Hills, 104 in Milton, 98 in Oakville and 57 in Burling- ton.
