PAGE4 THE ACTON MONTHLY VOLUME |, ISSUE 2 EDITORIAL 3 With Scott Brooks With the colder weather settling in for the winter, I often remind myself as to how fortu- nate I am for having a warm place to live and food to eat, but this is not the case for all residents within our community. It may seem hard to believe that in this day and age a good number of people, of all demographics, still find it a struggle to afford the necessities, such as food and a roof over their head, but that is the hard reality that is still being faced and a problem that is only growing. Many factors, usually no fault of anyone, can contribute to this growing problem, such as a high cost of living, economic downturn, or loss of employment. As we head into the Christmas season, we should remember to help each other in any way we can, to ensure we all do well and prosper. Whether it be through a donation of food, toys, clothing or cash, we can all do our share to guarantee no one is forgotten during the holidays and any other time of the year. If you are looking to make a contribution, I encourage you to read about what donations the Acton Food Share is looking for, on page 6 of this issue of The Acton Monthly. So whether you can give a little or a lot, it all adds up and will make our community a better place to live now and into the future. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New ear! The winter season may be cold, but it always makes for a pretty scene to see the snow blanket the evergreens, as seen in and around Acton.
