PAGE 4 THE ACTON MONTHLY VOLUME I, ISSUE | EDITORIAL With Scott Broke Over the past summer and into the fall, it was great to be back at the many events that took place in our great community of Acton. My friends and family, including myself, enjoyed ourselves with the return of events, such as Canada Day at Prospect Park, Leathertown Festival, and the Acton Fall Fair. While those events have come to pass for another year, and as we head into late fall and winter, there are still many events that are happening within our community that I encourage you to support and check out. A list of some of the events can be found in the community calen- dar on page 7 of this issue of The Acton Monthly. And while I am on the topic of sup- porting community events, I also strongly en- courage and recommend you to shop local at the fine shops and businesses of Acton for your gift needs this upcoming holiday season. The past couple of years have been difficult for local businesses and it would mean the world to them if you consider shopping local as most of these dollars go back into support- ing our community through team sponsor- ships, local food bank donations, etc. Even if they do not have a specific item in stock, I of- ten find our local businesses to go above and beyond to fulfill your needs by placing a spe- cial order—the type of customer service that you may not find anywhere else except in our great community of Acton. So please, support local this holiday season and throughout the year! Despite the days get- ting cooler and shorter and the nights getting longer, this little spar- row still seems to find the “bright-side” of au- tumn by soaking in the warm sunshine.
