POLICE BEAT Officer threatened Halton Regional Police have charged an Georgetown man with threatening death, carrying a con- cealed weapon and possession of a weapon or imitation following a domestic dispute Tuesday. Police were called to McFarlane Dr. shortly before 11 p.m. to inter- vene in a domestic dispute. The 12- year-old daughter of one of the peo- ple involved in the dispute made the phone call, a police spokesman id. According to police, a man-at the scene threatened one of the offi- cers “several times. The man then "approached the constable with his “hands in his pockets and again threatened the officer. The man was then “forcibly” arrested. During the scuffle a buck knife with the 3” blade extended, fell from the man’s pocket. A 40- year-old Georgetown man was set to appear in court Thursday. Bold bandit A Bolton man has been charged with theft after a set of tools were removed from the side of the road as the owner stood watching. ‘At about 10:45 a.m. Monday, a person working in the area of Hwy. 7 and Trafalgar Rd. put a sledge- hammer, hoe and edger on the side of the road. He then went across the road to retrieve some more sup- plies. While he was across the road, a large delivery truck pulled up. The driver got out of the vehicle, threw the tools in the back and drove off — “although the com- plainant was yelling” at him — police said. The driverof the truck, a 42-year-old Cambridge man, was arrested later in the day by OPP in Bolton.
