CHECK Pizza THIS Hut* out! 7 | GLT has professional director Georgetown Little Theatre has engaged professional director, Mimi Mekler, to direct the first play, “The Curate Shakespeare As You Like It.” Mimi’s experience in theatre includes acting, writing, directing and teaching, and these have taken her to California, Czechoslovakia, Italy, Israel and now Georgetown. She is currently teaching at Sheridan College and Seneca College, is Artistic Director of Theatre Plant, and has recently per- formed at the Premiere Dance Theatre. Mimi’s particular interest is in the new plays and Shakespeare, and this makes her the ideal choice to direct “The Curate.” Although this is not a Shakespeare play, it does revolve around a strange group of people, led by their curate, who are trying to perform “As You Like It.” The result, under Mimi’s direction, is bizarre and highly entertaining comedy. Peter Roe is acting as Assistant Director for this play. A long-time GLT member, Peter made his stage debut at the age of 13, and was seen last season in “Best of Friends.” He is most interested in directing, and after this experience of working BRACKy'S Tap'n'Grill ~ Moore Park Plaza ~ with a professional Peter hopes to become more involved in directing for GLT in the future. Scott McCullum organized the special event and we wish to extend our deepest thanks to all those fantastic people who volunteered their time and effort by washing the many cars which came into Wendy’s parking lot.
