PAGE 4 THE ACTON MONTHLY VOLUME 1, ISSUE 5 EDITORIAL 4 With Scott Brooks An important milestone, concerning the preservation of Acton’s history, has been reached. February 28th marked six years since I started the Facebook page, Vintage Acton, in 2017— a page dedicated to sharing the stories and photos of Acton’s history. Since its beginnings, I have been dedicated to educating residents and curious visitors on our rich heritage that has built the community we know today. It hasn’t always been an easy task finding information for research or a particular photo, but it is a duty that I do with a passion. I must mention that the success of Vintage Acton has not been because of my doings alone but from support of those who believed in me from the early start of my journey in chronicling Acton’s history. I am forever honoured to be carrying on the legacy of the Dills Collection and I am equally grateful to the, since defunct, New Tanner for giving me a space to promote my Facebook page and share historical photos. It was also Angela Tyler at the Tanner that gave me an archive of original photos, in 2018, that were seen in the paper from 1998 to 2001. All these contributions from the sources | mentioned, and members, are d valuable. Thank you for your continued support as I plan to continue preserving and sharing Acton’s history for many years to come through social media, publications, and public displays! When looking closely, the moon contains quite the detail of craters and lines which can be seen during various phases of the moon’s cycle. Pictured is the Waxing Gibbous phase, seen on Feb 11th, where 76 percent of the moon’s surface is illuminated by the sun, making the moon appear lopsided.
