PAGE 4 THE ACTON MONTHLY VOLUME 1, ISSUE 6 EDITORIAL . With Scott Brooks With the daylight hours getting longer and the temperature becoming milder, it has begun to feel more like Spring, which has got me feeling an “itch” to get out of the house and start looking forward to what the season has to offer. Throughout the month of March, while preparing for this April edition of The Acton Monthly, I had the pleasure of investigating what will be happening in the weeks and months to come in Acton. I must say that there is quite a bit in store for you, in April, as the Town of Halton Hills will be holding a number of events and activities in honour of the Annual Earth Week. Earth Week, from April 21st to 28th, is an initiative that encourages residents to make our community a cleaner and greener place to live, through awareness and education. Be sure to see page 8 for more information on the week of activities. In addition to Earth Week, looking further ahead, I learned that the BIA is working very hard to make Downtown Acton the place to be in 2023, with a lineup of events and projects under- way. Some of the events coming to downtown this year include an Outdoor Market and even the return of favourites such as the Leathertown Festival and the Zombie Walk. Check out pages 1 and 7 for further details on what the BIA is up to for this year! And, in the meantime, also feel free to browse the community calendar, on page 15, for a great list of other community events. There is definitely lots to see and do in Acton, so be sure to get out and enjoy what the season of Spring has to offer! As the temperature began to warm up and longer daylight hours in March, the trees in Prospect Park started to show their buds, which is always a welcomed sign indicating that the nicer days of Spring are ahead!
