Page 10 — Halton Hills This Week, Wednesday, October 21, 1992 ENTERTAINMENT “Curate” opens this week At last, Georgetown Little Theatre’s long-awaited season opener, “The Curate Shakespeare As you Like It” begins its two-week run, beginning tomorrow (Thursday) with a benefit performance for the United Way at John Elliott Theatre. “Curate” is the story of a small acting troop who attempt to per form “As you Like It,” a play of nearly 30 speaking parts, using only seven actors. Of course, this proves to be a chore, when the cast includes a per- fectionist Curate (Ron Hill), a cynical Celia (Shiona Watson), a moronic William (Paul Ciglen), a reluctant Audrey (Brigida Callaghan), a self- amused clown (Ro Palumbo-Coates), an overacting Amiens (Cedric Briggs), and a Rosalind (Kim Speer) who’s forgotten her part, but remembers the stage directions. *| Professional director Mimi Mekler and the cast have rehearsed over the past two months to bring the delightfully fresh and always amusing production to the JET stage, complete with a Harpo Marx look-alike musician (Haydn Evans), an interchangeable set, a hauntingly original music score by Jason Miller, and a few surprises that have been sworn to secrecy amongst the cast and crew. Enough said? Nay, not nearly! Come see for yourself by phoning 877- 2321 or visit the theatre box office during performance nights (October 24, 28-31) for excellent seats.
