Darts Industrial league continues at Legion following meeting by Alex Tough The Industrial league continued at the Legion following a meeting between the Legion executive and league executive committees. Legion president Bob McNeilly met several league players before play last Wednesday and matters were cleared to everyone’s satis- faction. One point of possible sadness should the league have left the legion lay in the fact that a Beaumont has always played in the league. That connection with the early pioneers of darts locally would have been severed. Fortunately, none of that is hap- pening and the league began play around the usual time of 8:30 p.m. Results from the first division are: Steeprock 5 - Westenders 4, High Rollers 5 - Inter County 4, Acadian Pools 1 - Gasketman Cutters 8 and Panthers 2 - Hustlers 7. Cutters lead the division by two points over Hustlers with Steeprock, Westenders, Rollers, Panthers, Pools and County behind. Second division results are: Taxmen 7 - Bandits 2, Independents 2 - Dream Team 7, Firemen 3 - Ensigns 6 and Aces 4 - GEORGETOWN SOCCER CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING WED., NOVEMBER 4/92 at 7:30 p.m. ALCOTT ARENA * Election of Officers for 1993 * Annual Reports * Suggestions from the Public * Constitutional Amendments All those interested in Youth Soccer are urged to attend! Hotshots 5. Dream Team lead by twelve points over Ensigns with Taxmen, Hotshots, Independents, Aces, Firemen and Bandits in pur- uit. Beau Beaumont had the first division high start of the night with 150. Eddie Ebbinge opened 120 in the second division. HIgh scores were 160 (Dave Tait) and 174 (Kevin McDonald) in respective divisions. Ron Scarlett captured the high finish with 140 in the first section and a 77 from Gary Hardcastle took the second section finish. Steeprock’s win over Westenders took them into third place and dropped the ‘Enders to fourth. Cutters moved up to the lead and Hustlers to second spot. Dream Team stayed well ahead in the second division although Ensigns remain the closest chal- lenger with little realistic chance of catching the front runners. Look out first division next season - already! Hunter Carroll had five starts, Eric Fuller, Ron Scarlett and Beau Beaumont each had four starts to lead the first division. Four opens were popular in the second with Rob Quinton (who had one of 2 102), Terry Paddie, Jim Franks, Brad Youmans, Roy Rudiger, Mike Hope and Bill Hall all mak- ing their mark. Larry Hunt, (139), Dave Scutt, Ron Scarlett, Brad Youmans, Mike Hope, John Burke and a couple of others knocked for 140 in high score categories. The Halton league had a night off for Thanksgiving Monday and returned to the boards on Monday. News next week. Across the “pond” Eric Bristwo gave notice of his intentions for the season with a final finish at the English Open last weekend. He met world champion Phil Taylor, one of Bristow’s prodigies and the result is not yet available to me. Former champion Bob Anderson, returning after serious injuries, was a semi-finalist in the lourney.
