Sometime between 5:30 p.m. on October 12 and 5:40 a.m. on October 13, unidentified culprits climbed onto the roof of the Zeller’s Store situated at 55 Ontario St., Milton. Once they were on the roof, the suspects erected a blue and gray nylon dome style tent near a kitchen exhaust unit and using the tent as cover they cut through the corrugated steel roof. They gained access to the inner roof using a home-made rope lad- der with wood steps. The suspects then cut through the drywall ceiling entering the kitchen area of the store and were in the process of cutting through a drywall partition which would have given them access to the smoke shop, when store employees arriving for work, scared them off.
