Government agencies want clarification of RSI decision By Dianne Cornish A Divisional Court hearing set to convene in Toronto next Monday could have far-reaching implica- tions for Halton Hills in its long- standing battle to quash a private company’s proposal to convert a mined-out portion of the Acton Quarry into a landfill site. The court is being asked to rule on the interpretation of Consolidated Hearings Board (CHB), which determined last - September that a landfill applica- tion by Reclamation Systems Incorporated (RSI) could not be by the Board because RSI had nog completed applications for approval from various government agencies that would lead to a hear- ing. Five government agencies, including the Ministry of the Environment (MOE), the Ministry of the Attorney General, the Interim Waste Authority (IWA) and the Ontario Waste Management Corporation (OWMO), have asked for clarifica- tion of the RSI decision which now impacts on every Environmental Assessment Board (EAB) hearing in Ontario.
