These organizations have recog- nized the need to share resources in developing a coordinated approach to the challenges facing the Halt community. Senior representatives from these organizations developed a proposal for a multicultural/anti- racist partnership project in Halton. The purpose of the project is to form a partnership for facilitating multicultural-cultural and anti- racist organizational change. ee is aimed to increase access for me! bers of ethnocultural groups ito mainstream organizations, services and bleed in Halton. During the project a model will be developed and implemented to make the required changes to remove barriers that limit access and equality in organizations. With financial assistance from the Department of Multiculturalism and Citizenship Canada, the Partnership Steering Committee is now ready to proceed with this pro- ject. e project requires a full time coordinator during the first two years. The coordinator will work with the steering committee to develop a model for institutional change and with the partnership organizations to establish internal Working Committees, identify internal barriers and implement the ved model. The steering committee invites interested individuals to submit a resume for the position of coordina- tor. Required qualifications include: experience in the area of multicul- tural change and antiracism policy development; excellent communi- cation skills; an effective under- standing of the dynamics of multi- culturalism; racism and organiza- tional change; experience in facili- tation and consensus-building; abil- ity and experience in working effectively within mainstream orga- nizations and diverse ethnocultural communities. The coordinator will be hired on a one year contract with the possi- bility of an extension for a second year, if the project meets its goals and receives continued commit- ment from the partnership organiza- tions and on-going financial sup- ort.
