Saturday; February 20, 1993 Back at home Feb. 10, the Simcoe Lions were again facing elimination if they lost. Again the Bodanis Raiders were looking at the O.M.H.A. 1/4 finals with a win. Raider forward Marc Boucher was a scratch in this one as a result of a hip-pointer received in game three. Jamie Briggs coming off a heel injury in game three replaced Georgetown Boucher on the left side. Gary McNiven scored what proved to be the only goal Georgetown would need at 14:45 of the second period. This was a textbook play. Tim Diardichuk started it off with a lead pass to David Kotsos. Kotsos went wide, fed it across the slot to Gary McNiven. McNiven one-timed a 20-footer deep into the net for the I The rest of the way it was pure defense. Georgetown withstood an incredible amount of stickwork, elbows and tackles from the rter finals with win over Simcoe Lions [efe)fe[=tq) ate. The hard work limited the Lions to only nine shots over the last two periods. Tim Diardichuk’s empty netter sewed it up with 44 seconds left in the game. This was an end-to-end foot race between Diardichuk and a Lions defender. Both arrived at the Simcoe goal crease at the same time with Diardichuk putting both the Simcoe defender and the puck into the net for the 2 - 0 win.
