Photo submitted Police warn of business scam Regional _ Police Deeathes from No. 12 Division in Milton want to inform local busi- nesses of a telephone solicitation scheme that has come to light in the Town of Milton. A local business contacted police after a male person who identified himself as Brett called and was attempting to sell advertising space in a Region of Halton publication. The male called on several occa- sions during the first two weeks of February and was very persistent. The caller indicated that he rep- resented the Halton Regional Police Service and when the company stated they did not want to purchase any advertising space, he became very aggressive and abusive on the telephone. Investigators have received only one complaint at this time but want the business community to be fully aware of the misrepresentation and to report any incidents to the lice. “The Halton Regional Police Service does not subscribe, support or endorse any public or private publications.
