The meet extends through May 30 and racing is scheduled Fridays through Tuesdays with a 7:30 p.m, Post time each evening. wagering on Mohawk’s races is offered at Greenwood, Woodbine and Fort Erie as well as numerous tracks throughout southern Ontario, Racing fans can look forward to some competitive stakes series fea- turing some of the best local talent around, in the Youthful, Princess and Mohawk Pacing Series, The Youthful Series is for three- year-olds and gets underway with the opening leg on Sunday, March 28 and continues on April 4 and 11 with the $30,000 final on April 17. Some of the nominees for the Youthful include: trainer-driver John Kopas’ talented Jate Lobell colt, Make A Face; trainer Rheal Bourgeois’ Big Talent, winner of Greenwood’s Snowshoe Series; trainer Bob Young’s Mount Nemo, named for the small hamlet on the Guelph Line between Lowville and Burlington. The Princess Pacing Series for the sophomore Division of the fair- er sex is scheduled for April 18 and 15, with the $60,000 final swinging in behind the starting gate on May. 2. The Mohawk Pacing Series, also for three-year-olds, is featured on Sundays in the month of May, with the $80,000 final going postward on Sunday, May 23. For the second successive year; Mohawk will host a Drivers Charity Challenge competition. This will take place on Sunday, April 18 and include the circuit’s top drivers as well as some of Hoof Beats "ee North Aimerica’s best, in this drive for charity. The highlight of the meet is Mohawk’s Family Fireworks Extravaganza on Sunday, May 23, There will be a special 7 p.m. post- time on this evening and entertain- ment all night long for the kids. This is always a crowd-pleaser and the show, staged by Hands Fireworks, promises to be better than ever. Remember, children 12-and- under with an adult are admitted to the track free.
