Spring means Rebel By Mike Zrostek As with many teams in high school sports, the Georgetown District High School Rebels boys baseball team finds itself undergo- ing something of a transition period because of the loss of players to graduation. Last year’s team, which lost a close game in the league semi- finals, was a veteran team. This year’s squad will sport a number of new faces, featuring only four or five returning players. ‘red Kotani, one of the coaches, is counting on players from various backgrounds to form the ‘93 team. “We have many boy’s from the junior grades trying out, the players returning-from last year and some who play on the local rep team, who we re bepe will bolster the club,” said K Kotani d describes the team as hav- ing many good athletes that should mesh with leadership coming from veteran players, Adam Poyntz and Greg Dobbin. If there is a source of concern for the Rebels, Kotani says, it’s in the pitching depth of the team. “We have-a couple of first year guys (Derek Ellard and Trevor Elinesky) trying out for pitching i. Overall Kotani thinks the Rebel team should be competitive in their division this year .
