By combining songs, with dance and laughter, the characters learn that the true meaning of life comes from within onese! According to Rick Nodwell, Principal of Park Public School, “Because of the relatively small size of our school, every student is Participating in the play — as a member of the cast, choir or through their individual classes. To further encourage participa- tion in the production, students from all grades ‘designed unique prior to and during the perfor- ances. The three-performance produc- tion kicks off with a matinee at 1:15 p.m. on April 19, followed by two evening performances on April and 21, starting at 7 p.m. Ts goes to show that clowning around can be educational! Each year between 60 and 80 people come to the gallery for brunch followed by an hour of classical music. Those who come leave raving and return faithfully every year. We could probably fit 100 people in, so why not try it? Imagine professional classical musicians, church acoustics, stained glass artistry and a delicious brunch, all for $15. This year’s musicians are Stephen Green on cello at McGill University (Bachelor of Music), University of Toronto (Masters of Music) and the Nordwestdeutsche Musikakademie, Detmold, Germany. Stephen returned from a seven-year stay in New York City to play in the orchestra for Les Miserables in Toronto, Montreal and Calgary. Last summer, Stephen appeared in the Stratford Festival production of H.M.S. Pinafore. His next major project will be Miss Saigon at the new Princess of Ginny's 09 DIAPER: SERVICE SS Wales Theatre in Toronto. Stephen is married to actress/director Elise Dewsberry who is currently work- ing for Globe Productions as artis- tic director of the Mikado. Pianist and conductor Yuri Meyrowitz gained recognition for his musical abilities at a young age. Winning an award from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation at the age of nine brought attention to his exceptional musical gifts and prompted Mr. Meyrowitz’s move to Canada where his musical develop- ment came under the guidance of the legendary Rosina Lhevinne. Mr. Meyrowitz has appeared reg- ularly on CBC Radio and has been much in demand throughout North America and Europe as a piano soloist and conductor.
