Dina Dichek, director of pharma- cy at the Georgetown and District Memorial Hospital, admits that Prozac is used at the hospital. She explained that it was introduced only after extensive tests had been conducted. “ After the results of tests were published, we-were con- vinced that the drug was safe,” Dichek explained, Dichek claimed the drug is clas- sified as an anti-depressant. She added that Prozac is used for vic- tims of. depression, some of whom have been diagnosed as already having have suicidal tendencies. She explained .this may be a reason why the misconceptions about sui- cidal tendencies have developed.
