Scouting service recognized John Ollivier, Marketing Manager for Halton Cable Systems was recently awarded the Canada 125 Medal for his involvement in Scouting. The medal, struck to commemo- rate Canada’s 125th year of Confederation, is bestowed upon those who have made a significant contribution to the community. Olliver’s medal was presented at a planning and development meet- ing for the Central Escarpment Region of Scouts Canada, which includes Georgetown, Acton and Milton as well as Oakville, Burlington, Brampton, Malton and Bolton area. “It was a surprise, of course”, said Ollivier. “I had just finished a presentation, coincidentally about hgnors and awards, when the Region President called me back so that he could read the letter from the Governor General’s office and pin the medal on me.
