Auction Committee The seventh annual Kinsmen T.V. Auction takes place Monday, starting at 6 p.m. on Halton Cable Systems Channel 4. We have a lineup of over 260 items that com- mand a retail value of more than $78,000. The wide range of items include: pizzas to catering, roller blades to a convertible, and a mower to a chain saw. The Kinsmen Club of Georgetown is a young men’s ser- vice club dedicated to Serving the Community’s Greatest Need. The club recently celebrated it’s 35th anniversary and has 35 active members. The Kinsmen’s national charity is Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is a disease of the respiratory system that attacks thousands of children every year. Life expectancy of children with cystic fibrosis has recently been extended into the 20’s, through research sponsored by Kinsmen. Local support is given to such orga- nizations like the Open Door, the Food Bank, the Red Cross and The Cancer Society. The Kinsmen club is responsible for the batting cage at the fair- grounds and the paper shredder at Wastewise. The Kinsmen sponsor the Kinsmen Girl’s Softball League and support many other sports including the Bluefins Swimming Club and Georgetown Minor Hockey Association. Here’s how the Auction works. The prize list is split up into eight; 30-minute time blocks. Starting at 6 p.m., the first block. will be auc- tioned off. Viewers may call'on one of the eight phone lines we have established. Your bid is received and recorded. The highest bid wins. The Kinsmen club reserves the tight to hold items over from one block to another. Be sure to bid early to avoid phone tie ups. Please bid at least 50% of the value of the item, phone often and bid high. Once a time block has been closed, the successful bidders will be called to confirm the bid and get the payment and delivery details. We will accept VISA and Mastercard, so have your cards Tead; ly. Delivery will be made Tuesday evening, have your payment ready.
