The Redmen offense seemed to be nowhere in sight during the first half. They struggled to move the ball out of their zone. Mid-way through the half, Notre Dame opened the scoring on a Penalty kick. Dame tried desperately to cross the Redmen goalline late in the half, but with a strong defense, Acton managed to hold them back. The second half wasn’t any better for the Redmen. Not only their offense suffered, but their defense stopped working as well. Dame scored four consecutive trys during the half to take a com- manding 25-0 lead. Acton’s only try came on the very last play of the game when Brett Petrillo broke away on the Tight side of the field and crossed Dame’s goalline.
