The first annual North Halton Roman Catholic Elementary School Board track and field meet was held at Georgetown District High School, with athletes from Halton Hills and Milton schools participat- ing. From the meet the top two in each event advance to the Halton Region Roman Catholic School Board Championships scheduled for Nelson High School in Burlington this coming Tuesday. From Georgetown’s Holy Cross, in the tyke division, Amanda Campbell will take part in two events, the girls 60-metres and high jump. In the atom division Janelle ‘Williams won the 60-metres and the girls long jump. The relay teams going to Nelson are the girls B 4x100, boys B 4x100 and the mixed B 4x100. Jeremy Cadger advanced for the boys high jump as well as the boys B 4x100 and girls B 4x100 relay teams. St. Joseph’s of Acton will have some strong athletes going from the various age divisions. From tyke Joel Petkoff advanced in both the 100-metres and long jump, D. J. King in the 200-metre boys, David Hatch from the boys high jump and David Albana in the boys softball throw will also make the trip. Bronwen Jones is in for the girls long jump and Nicole LaForest for girls high jump. The relay teams going are the boys, girls and mixed B 4x100 teams. In the atom division, Lisa McHugh is in the girls 100-metres, Stephanie Cameron the high jump and Reuben Rivers the boys long jump. The boys B 4x100 relay team and mixed B 4x100 team advanced as well the atom team. The bantam division has Kris Violic in the boys 800-metres and Bronwyn Marshall in the girls 800- metres. In the boys high jump, Derek Lockerbie advanced as did Mike Ebling in the boys shot put and Giulianna Scappin in the girls shot put. Also the boys, girls and mixed B 4x100 relay teams advanced.
