Tt was worth the drive to Acton on May 18 when the Glen Atom girls drove on to beat Acton, 17-6. Leading the attack for the Glen was Megan Rowlands with a home run. Kim lamme smoked the ball by many Acton players when she pitched three innings of no-hit ball. Meagan Rowlands also pitched two strong innings to contribute to the win. As the score shows, all Glen players had a heyday at bat during this game. Coaches Beth Haines and Ron specially proud of the batting performances turned in by this year’s rookies Trisha Jones, Sheena Switzer and Jessica Atwell. Coach Jim Hall had his team of Atom boys revved and in top form for their game against Hornby. The Glen downed Hornby 10-8 in an exciting battle to the end. Daniel Kaay ended the first and third innings with a pair of great catches. Matthew Gray and Josh Inglis drove in RBI’s for their contribution to the win. Mike Hall made a sensational catch at shortstop to retire a Hornby player. Josh Inglis had enough of Hornby crossing home plate, so with two out, he made a great catch to end the game. The most entertaining games to watch in the Glen involve our T-ball teams. They make the impossible seem really easy and sometimes give a whole new set of rules to the game. The T-ball red team took on the T-ball white team. Jason Jacobs, Andrew Jeffries, Scott Buist and Sean Graydon had a good night at bat for the white team while Eric Davies replied for the red team. Scott Buist put his glove to good use trapping an infield hit and toss- ing to teammate Andrew Jefferies on first base to tag the runner out. Game stars were: Jason Jacobs for his two hits to outfield and Andrew Jefferies for his quick tagging on first base. Andrew tagged two run- ners out. Jim Hall had his Atom boys A team fired up and ready for action when they played Hornby, beating them-10-8 Mike Hall had a sensational catch at shortstop and Josh Inglis ended the game with a great catch. Daniel Kaay had two great catches to end the first and third innings. Hitters for this game were Matthew Gray and Josh Inglis who drove in RBI’s. The Glen Atom boys seemed to run into trouble losing 17-1 to Hornby. Great defensive plays by Brian Sorbie, Andy Lewin and Mike Hall.
